FORMING A NEW HOUSE CHURCH
Note: Currently this offer is available only to residents of the U.S.A. and Canada.
What do you need to begin a True Hope House Church?
First of all, you need a definite call and vision from God! This is discussed earlier but
you must be able to explain God's call and vision to you for this purpose in your application for church
credentials.
Second, to form a True Hope House Church you must be licensed or an ordained
minister. If you are not, you may apply with True Hope for a license to minister which will be issued to
qualified applicants who are willing to follow through in a study plan for ordination.
Third, you need to have a small core of people who are committed to do more than just "give it a
try" for a season and who are committed to help grow the church!
Other practical considerations are:
-
Is your house large enough to accomodate 15 - 20 people in one area? (If not, do one of your
"core people" have such a house?)
-
Are you and/or your spouse gifted with the grace of hospitality?
-
Do you have the encouragement of others in your desire/vision for a house church?
-
Do you keep a clean home? (People won't come back if your bathroom is unclean and your living
areas are a mess!)
-
Do you have someone who can tend to infants and young children should they become distraction?
Or, can you put up with the distraction that children often become?
Finally, you can become a House Church without being affiliated with or sponsored by any
ministry organization ... but there are some practical advantages to forming as an extension of an existing
ministry ... the chief of which is to be recognized as a legitimate ministry!
For instance, you can tell people that you are starting a house church, or you can tell people
that you are part of the True Hope House Church network! Ask yourself, which would you be more responsive
to? Typically, people feel more comfortable when there is organization behind an effort.
This also lets others know that you are not merely striking out on your own but there is
someone helping you who recognizes God's call on you to lead a group of saints.
The decision, of course, is ultimately up to you. If you know you are called to form a
House Church and want to be a part of a larger organization that will let you follow your vision while supporting
your efforts, then we would be glad to talk with you further! Give us a call! Click Here
